Why MAGA happened.
As we watch the MAGA movement implode here in the U.S., it feels like a good moment to share a Human Design perspective on how and why it happened in the first place. It has to do with the openness in our designs – the “white space” – because that’s where we humans are most vulnerable to the conditioning beliefs and behaviors of others. It’s the principle place we find fault in ourselves for not being what we’re not. When someone is aware of their openness and relies on their inner authority to guide them through the discomfort and uncertainty of the world, circumstances, and relationships that surround them, they are less vulnerable to falling prey to the false prophets and promises of others. While 40 years of de-funding education, combined with the creation of a right wing media engine that served up propagandized personalities and sound bites that diminished the value of critical thinking, cultural connection, and intellectual curiosity have been the two most powerful weapons for accelerating the social decay of the American public, they would not have been nearly as effective if the energetic blueprint of MAGA targets wasn’t already primed for external conditioning, i.e. emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, and behavioral programming. If we analyzed MAGA charts, I would wager that many of them would be open in one or more of the following centers (the % is the number of undefined across humanity): the Heart center (65% undefined) is about worthiness - when we feel unworthy, we feel pressure to prove our worthiness and sell ourselves short, giving away our time, talent, loyalty, and agency; the G/Self center (~50% undefined) is about how we find love, direction, and identity - when we feel lost, we allow others to define who we are and where we’re going so we can feel a sense of place and belonging; the Head center (70% undefined) is about inspiration - we feel lost in all the information, thinking about things that don’t matter, and jump at the potential for relief when someone else tells us exactly what to think; the Ajna center (% undefined) is about how we process information, transforming inspiration into shareable concepts – when we’re not sure of our thought process, we cling to what we think we know, especially when we feel uncertain; the Throat center (30% undefined) is how we know we’re here, it’s the evidence of what we say and do – when we feel invisible, we’ll do and say whatever is necessary to be noticed. Sound familiar? While there are nine centers in all, these are the principal centers (in my opinion) that fed the rise of the MAGA movement because they were open and receptive to conditioning by outer authorities who were pushing their own sordid (and unaligned) agendas. The good news is that as more and more MAGAs wake up to the hijacking of their own intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and social sovereignty, there is a real opportunity to objectively show them who they are and guide them to their own inner authority.
