The importance of place.

In Human Design there’s a concept called “environment” and it represents the environmental conditions your body craves — conditions your body will seek out, with or without your conscious recognition. Living in the correct environment for your design, it’s said, will positively impact your life (assuming you’re living according to the strategy of your aura and your inner authority). I’m completing the fourth year of living my design, honoring my Sacral response, and I am both mystified and in awe at how well it has guided me. From the initial response to acknowledge that I’m not currently living in the right place to the response that guided me to query ChatGPT in brainstorming a place that met specific criteria (that were also guided by my response), to narrowing my investigation to Spain, then southern Spain, to sharing my plans to travel in December with my business partner, a Splenic Projector whose instinctive and immediate response was ‘go now!’, to which my Sacral response answered ‘she’s right’, to scanning Booking.com for hotels and being drawn to Olive & Ivy run by a Swiss couple, noting how I normally book hotel stays in Spain with a Spanish proprietor but my Sacral said ‘we’re staying here’. Imagine on the third day, while still feeling rotten from the sore throat I contracted on the plane and with 60 minutes to kill before the 9:00 am breakfast, Emma (my yellow Labrador Retriever) said ‘go for a walk’. So I did. I walked up the narrow winding street to investigate the path to El Saltillo, the stunning pedestrian suspension bridge that shortens the distance between Canillas de Aceituno and the next whitewashed village over, Sedella. Just 15 minutes into my walk I am greeted by exquisite views of whitewashed villages, rolling mountains folding into each other, peppered with rock formations and olive trees and fincas, the sea in the distance, and the warm, olive and pine-scented air cleansing my lungs and my bloodstream – my sore throat is no longer the main event, my entire body is energized and alive, and I feel the profound satisfaction and knowing in the depths of my soul that I have just found something very very important — my place.
